Provably fair: results you can verify

What provably fair is

Provably fair is a cryptographic method that lets you check that a round's result was fixed before you bet and was not changed afterwards.

The EmpireBet Originals – Dice, Mines, Plinko, Limbo, Crash and our other in-house games – use it.

How it works

  1. Before you play, the server picks a secret seed and shows you only its hash.
  2. You have your own seed, which you can change at any time.
  3. Each bet combines both seeds and a counter (nonce) to produce the result.
  4. When you change seeds, the server seed is revealed: you check that its hash matches and that every result comes from that combination.

Multiplayer crash: a hash chain

In the multiplayer crash games everyone plays the same round, so there is no per-player seed: each result comes from a hash chain made in advance and revealed round by round, and anyone can check that each hash leads to the previous one.

How to check

Every Original has a fairness panel with the round's data and a calculator that recomputes the result.

Frequently asked questions

Are all games provably fair?

The EmpireBet Originals are. Slots from other studios use the game's own random number generator.

Does provably fair improve my odds?

No. It proves the result was not tampered with; each game's house edge stays the same.
